Desert unit?
« on: August 05, 2008, 11:34:42 PM »
Has anyone seen or heard of any nice bucks taken from here? I have seen several pics from bucks taken from this unit and I wouldnt take those deer in a OTC North Eastern Wa unit.Back in 04 I saw all the rifle killed deer and laughed and cant seem to figure out the hype over this unit. My buddies have said the same thing, there are better areas in this state that are OTC, why would someone apply for this unit and use their points. Maybe I just have missed something over the years.

Yeah, there ain't no bucks in there I wouldn't waste my points either!

OTC is always better than controlled hunts especially in eastern Washington!

Nope no big ones out there.  ;)

The main reason guys dont kill big bucks is because they assume since it is limited entry and become a very saught after unit, it will be a walk in the park. Not true. The guys that know the unit and draw, kill big bucks. You dont see them because they dont want anyone to. Very very difficult unit to put down a big one.
